This is your invitation to experience The Hermit Club, America's oldest continuously operating club dedicated to the performing arts. Arts in the Abbey is a new performance initiative to showcase a wide range of performances from Cleveland artists, including theater, dance, music and more.

Get ready for a fantastic night of Big Band Jazz and Ballroom Dancing with The Swing Time Big Band featuring Dianne Palmer live at The Hermit Club!
Come to listen or come to dance to a fabulous mix of jazz tunes (and some original Hermit Club arrangements) with Dianne Palmer on vocals, Jim Grove on trombone and the swinging, 17-piece Swing Time Big Band leading the charge!

The Hermit Club Orchestra performs Chopin Piano Concerto #1 featuring Sasha Grossman
Don't miss your chance to hear award-winning international piano virtuoso Sasha Grossman in concert with The Hermit Club Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Steve Eva.
Sasha Grossman is an award-winning pianist with an impressive international resume. Accepted at age five into New York’s Special Music School, he has performed at Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, Lincoln Center, and internationally at renowned venues in the UK and Italy. Sasha is currently a scholarship student at the Yehudi Menuhin School in England, studying under distinguished mentors while continuing to win top prizes in international competitions. His musical experiences extend beyond the concert stage, including roles with The Metropolitan Opera Children’s Chorus and composing his own music—completing his first fully orchestrated piano concerto at just eleven years old.

Recently honored as a two-time winner at the 2025 Michigan Music Awards for Best Jazz Album and Best Jazz Single/Performance, Olivia Van Goor is an emerging talent you won’t want to miss. Olivia has carved her own path, learning from some of the finest jazz musicians in the Midwest, and has cultivated a rich, distinctive sound as a result. Her hard work has yielded 3 main recordings (most recently her full length holiday album Waiting For Santa) and many singles including two recorded with Cleveland musicians at Akron Recording Company.
Featuring Mike Harrison on keyboards, George DeLancey on bass and Zaire Darden on drums.

The Hermit Club is at 1629 Dodge Court. The Club is nestled behind Hofbrauhaus Cleveland, located at 1550 Chester Avenue.
You may enter through the Hofbrauhaus or through the Hermit Club door on Dodge Court. Please check-in at the welcome desk at the bottom of the stairs leading to the Great Hall.
No. Drinks and food are available for purchase. There will be a cash bar before, during and after the show. Patrons are welcome to stay for dinner afterwards, served in the Hermit Dining Room and the Hofbrauhaus. Please make dinner reservations directly with the Hofbrauhaus at (216) 647-2719.
Arts in the Abbey performances run 60-75 minutes, with no intermission.
Cocktail attire preferred for all events.
